Our Mission
When Apple transitioned to Apple Silicon in 2020, millions of users were left wondering: "Will my favorite apps work on my new Mac?" We created Does It Mac to answer that question instantly.
Our goal is simple: provide accurate, up-to-date compatibility information for every app and game, so you can make informed decisions about your software before you buy or upgrade.
How It Works
Data Collection
We aggregate data from official sources, user reports, and automated testing to build our database.
Verification
Each app is tested and categorized based on how it runs: native ARM64, Rosetta 2, or via compatibility layers.
Daily Updates
Our database syncs daily at 6:00 UTC to ensure you always have the latest compatibility info.
Understanding Compatibility
Native (ARM64)
The app has been rebuilt for Apple Silicon and runs natively. This provides the best performance and battery life.
Rosetta 2 / CrossOver / Parallels
The app works through a compatibility layer. Performance may vary, but most apps run well. CrossOver and Parallels require separate purchases.
Not Compatible
The app does not currently work on Apple Silicon Macs through any known method. This is often due to kernel-level anti-cheat or hardware requirements.
