Performance Tips
- Do not expect playable performance, even on M4 Max with 128GB unified memory, You.Tapes fails to maintain a stable frame rate.
- If using Parallels, set the virtual machine to “Performance” mode and disable Hypervisor framework for better GPU passthrough, though this rarely helps.
- Lower all in-game settings to minimum (if you can access the menu) and disable ray tracing, DLSS, and VRS.
- Close all background apps on macOS to free up RAM and CPU resources for the virtual machine.
- Use a Windows 11 ARM build instead of Windows 10 for slightly better ARM64 compatibility in Parallels.
- Update your Mac to macOS 15 Sequoia or later for the latest Game Porting Toolkit improvements, but note this does not fix You.Tapes.
- Monitor your Mac’s temperature, the game may cause thermal throttling even during failed launch attempts.
- Consider streaming the game via GeForce NOW or Xbox Cloud Gaming as a viable alternative to local play on Mac.
